27-year-old Granada left-back Guilherme Siqueira is a transfer target for Everton as they prepare to lose Leighton Baines, reports the Daily
New manager Roberto Martinez has yet to make his first signing, but with Baines reportedly a target for top-four clubs, especially Manchester United, who are now managed by former boss David Moyes, a new left-back is likely to be high on his priorities.
£4.5m rated Siqueira has reportedly been identified as Baines’ possible replacement, and although reports suggest talks are at an early stage, he is said to prefer a move to the Premier League rather than elsewhere, with Turkish side Galatasaray also interested. Indeed, talks with them are at an advanced stage.
This would ensure that Martinez would have to be quick to secure Siquera’s services. Of course, the Spaniard would prefer that Baines remains an Everton player by the end of the transfer window, but if the England man was to leave, and Siqueira carries his form for Granada, where he scored six goals in 35 league appearances last season, to the Premier League, the Brazilian would be an able replacement.
