Man United are ready to listen to offers in the region of £20m for winger Nani, with newly promoted French outfit Monaco interested, reports The
The Portuguese international is reportedly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford under the new regime of David Moyes, and it is believed his sale would help fund an £80m war kitty to help the Red Devils retain their Premier League crown next season.
With Monaco now back in the French top flight, and being bankrolled by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, they are expecting to challenge the likes of Paris Saint-Germain for the top tier title next season and have already spent heavily on their assault.
Recent signings include French record £50m-striker Radmael Falcao, and his fellow Colombian James Rodriguez. The latter was captured from Porto, from whom Monaco have also signed a second player – Joao Moutinho, who is an old team-mate of Nani’s from their Sporting Lisbon days.
Nani had enjoyed a growing reputation at Old Trafford until this season, which saw him make just seven starts and score a single goal. These stats, coupled with the fact that the club could recoup around £20m, mean that Moyes could be keen to sell and look elsewhere for new blood in Moyes’ maiden season as United boss.
