Mourinho assures Lukaku of Chelsea future

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that there is a place at Stamford Bridge for Romelu Lukaku.

Hailed as the new Didier Drogba, Lukaku has some big boots to fill for the Blues, however talkSPORT are reporting that the Portuguese manager has every faith in the formidable striker despite rumours of Chelsea looking to bring in another big name striker this summer.

Lukaku bagged 17 goals in the Premier League last year whilst on loan at West Bromwich Albion, including a hat-trick against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the final day of the season. Reports are suggesting that the Belgian ace has impressed Mourinho and he is now willing to give him a place in his squad.

The 18-year-old signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2011 after taking his native Belgian league by storm scoring 33 goals in 73 appearances for Anderlecht.

However, Lukaku has been unable to transfer his domestic form on to the international stage, scoring just three goals since making his senior debut in 2010.
