Incoming Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini has already lined a £30m bid for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, according to The
The departing Malaga coach claimed at the end of May that he had a verbal agreement to take over the manager’s job at Man City, and has set his sights immediately on strengthening his squad in the quest to regain the Premier League crown.
Pellegrini is believed to have given the thumbs up for a move for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, who will join City for around £17m.
Brazil international Fernandinho has also completed a move to the Etihad Stadium, and Pellegrini is keen to add to the side’s prowess in the middle of the park with another winger to help supply City’s goal-line assault next season.
It is believed, however, that Di Maria’s signing could prove a difficult one. Incoming Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep the 25-year-old in the squad, and club president Florentino Perez could demand a fee in a similar region to that of Fernandinho’s, believed to be around the £34m mark.
It is also believed that Pellegrini will make moves to tie up the signing of his former player Isco, who appears eager to follow the Chilean from Malaga to Man City.
Isco, 22, who has also been a target for Chelsea in recent months, said: “Do I want to go to Manchester City? I wish. It might be possible.”
