Reina admits he could make Liverpool exit

Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina has alerted potential suitors by stating he would move from Liverpool if a ‘bigger club’ were interested.

The Sun are reporting that Reina, 30, has thrown his Anfield future into doubt:

“If I am given the chance to improve and go to a bigger club, and now there are a few bigger than Liverpool, I’m sure the club would understand.”

Arsenal and Barcelona are believed to have been alerted by his comments and could table bids, should the Spanish stopper put an end to his eight year stint on Merseyside. However, Reina has also hinted that he has a contractual obligation at Liverpool:

“I’m very happy and satisfied at Liverpool, my situation is clear, I have three years left on my contract- but I never say never.”

Following Jamie Carragher’s retirement, captain Steven Gerrard is now the only player to have served more years at the club. But the former Barcelona trainee could be tempted back to his beginnings after becoming frustrated at the lack of honours Liverpool have been able to challenge for.
