Tottenham are said to be one of two Premier League clubs interested in signing Zenit St. Petersburg striker Hulk, according to a report on the Daily
The former Porto player was courted by Chelsea last summer, but the Blues were effectively out of the chase as soon as Zenit agreed to meet his £48m buy-out clause.
The player’s agent, Teodoro Fonseca, has confirmed that there is interest from England in Hulk, and speculates that a move is not impossible for the 26-year-old.
He said: “Two big clubs in the Premier League have enquired about Hulk.”
When asked about the possibility of Hulk moving to White Hart Lane, he said: “This could arise because Hulk’s best time was under Andre Villas-Boas at Porto.”
Hulk has scored seven goals in 18 appearances for Zenit this season, but fell out with boss Luciano Spalletti, prompting him to seek a move away back in the January transfer window. FIFA regulations, however, prevent a player from playing for more than two clubs in a season, and as a result he was forced to remain in Russia until at least the summer.
Hulk had made two appearances for Porto before securing his move to Zenit, and with the ruling also applying to loans he was blocked from playing for anyone else before the end of the season.
However, with a fresh start a potential summer goal for the player, and his links with Villas-Boas in the past, Spurs look to be favourites to land the Brazil international.
