Andre Villas-Boas wants to make Benfica forward Rodrigo one of two new strikers at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, the
The Brazil-born Spain youth international is valued by his club at around £10m and previously had a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers when the Trotters were a Premier League club and he had only recently moved to Portugal, having been on the fringes of the Real Madrid first team. Rodrigo made 17 appearances for Wanderers in 2010/11, scoring once – against Wigan Athletic in January 2011.
Villas-Boas is keen to add more firepower to his Spurs squad this summer and wants to sign one younger, promising attacker – which could be Rodrigo – and another more established forward as well. Tottenham are said to have had their scouts watch Rodrigo closely towards the end of the season, with Benfica ending the campaign in second place in the Portuguese league and as runners-up to Chelsea in the Europa League.
