Wenger lines up Grenier who is keen on move

Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has hinted that a move to Arsenal could be on the cards in the summer, according to ESPN.

Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the 22-year-old, who admitted earlier this week that talks had been held between himself and Lyon boss Remi Garde regarding the player’s future.

He said: “I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join. I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them.

“There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision. I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them.”

Grenier has made 75 appearances for Lille, scoring eight goals, and made his France U-21 debut last year, earning a total of 5 caps for them since then.

The classy midfielder is thought to have a bright future in the game, and appears keen to set himself a new challenge by joining up with compatriot Wenger at the Emirates.
