Arsenal and City boosted after Juve end Jovetic pursuit

Arsenal and Manchester City have been handed a lifeline in their respective chases’ for Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic after reports have circulated that Juventus have pulled out of the running.

The news has galvanised the two clubs with the Gunners now looking likely to splurge a large portion of their £70m transfer kitty to acquire his services.

Juventus were front runners in the deal to sign Jovetic but general director Guiseppe Marotta has said that difficulties in the relationship between him and the player have meant that a deal would be impossible. This news has brought forward added interest from the Premier League with the Gunners and City both looking to strengthen their respective front lines.

However the Daily Express are reporting that the North Londoners may have been priced out of a deal for the 25-year-old due to his high wage demands. City are also thought to fancy the front man after losing Carlos Tevez to Juventus last week and wage demands would not be a problem for the lavish Sky Blues.
