Arsenal could be ready to raid Benfica for their Argentine winger Salvio, the
Arsene Wenger vowed to spend money on the Gunners squad this summer but as yet has come up short, frustrated in the chase for Gonzalo Higuain, with Napoli now rivalling the Premier League club.

And now Salvio is on Wenger’s wishlist, with a £30m fee suggested. Wenger is said to be a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old – and could also move for his club colleague and compatriot Nicolas Gaitan. Gaitain may also be Wenger’s second choice is the approach for Salvio falls on deaf ears.
Salvio and Gaitan were both part of the Benfica team that reached last season’s Europa League final, where the Portuguese outfit lost to Chelsea after a late goal from defender Branislav Ivanovic.
