Chelsea prepare to make moves for Sporting CP’s Bruma

Chelsea could be about to land the man dubbed “the new Cristiano Ronaldo”, according to the Daily Star.

The man in question is Sporting CP and Portugal star Bruma, who is currently impressing the neutrals at the U-20 World Cup in Turkey. New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen on taking Bruma to Stamford Bridge, and is understood to be preparing a £15m approach for the starlet.

The Daily Star believes that Mourinho is also adamant he wants the deal done quickly in order to avoid a bidding war, with other clubs also interested in the Bissau-born winger’s services.

Comparisons with Ronaldo are understandable owing to Bruma sharing playing position and nationality with the Real Madrid star, and his impressive performances recently have led to much optimism surrounding the player’s future.

He is thought to possess many characteristics which imply he would fit in well in the English top flight, but Sporting have not given up hope that they can hang on to their bright young star for the time being.

They are believed to be preparing a new contract offer to Bruma in the hopes of, at best, convincing him to stay, or at worst at least maximising their potential return should he opt to leave Est
