Cissokho happy at Valencia amid Liverpool interest

Liverpool target Aly Cissokho, the Valencia left-back, has claimed that he is happy in Spain according to reports from ESPN.

The Reds moved for the player who joined the Valencianistas from Lyon last summer, but the 25-year-old has claimed that he is content at La Mestalla, having enjoyed plenty of playing time in La Liga and the Champions League despite the club’s management changing hands twice last year.

However, the Spanish club are reportedly cash-strapped and looking to lessen their debts so the overall future of Cissokho could ultimately be taken out of the player’s hands. The France international has attracted attention not just from the Premier League with Liverpool but from a couple of Russian Premier League clubs as well. Cissokho though has no intentions of leaving his current club as he looks to impress Valencia’s third manager of the last 12 months, Miroslav Djukic.

The former Porto full-back made 25 appearances for Valencia and scored two goals last season. But his form has not been enough to stamp his authority on the international team, as he has only made one France appearance since his debut in 2010.
