Kagawa laments first season at Old Trafford

Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa has spoken of his disappointment with his performances last season, his first at the club, while also admitting that he would like to return to former club Borussia Dortmund in the future, according to Bild.

The Japanese international, who appeared at the Confederations Cup this summer, was not a regular in the starting XI, often being rotated with the Ashley Young, Ryan Giggs and Tom Cleverley. Overall he made 26 appearances for United in all competitions, scoring six goals, including a hat-trick against Norwich City in March.

He was often left out of the big games, including the Champions League tie with Real Madrid, leading to the 24-year-old expressing his frustration with his form. He said’ for me it’s not been a great season’.

Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has said previously that United’s use of Kagawa left him in tears, after his big money move from Germany. Now, Kagawa has admitted that he would be keen on a return to Dortmund later in his career. He declared: ‘one day I would like to return to Borussia Dortmund’.
