Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is being targeted by Lazio, after just one season at Anfield, according to Calcio
Borini scored just one Premier League goal last season, away to Newcastle United, as he missed most of it through injury. He was mainly used as a substitute last season, and his opportunities may be further limited by the arrival of Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo, with Liverpool also rumoured to be targeting several other forwards.
He may, however be seen as an extra option by Brendan Rodgers, with Luis Suarez’s departure appearing likely, and even if the Uruguayan doe not leave, he still has six games remaining in his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic back in April.
And the Italian international is thought to be targeted by Lazio, despite having played in the past for rivals Roma. Borini’s agent, Marco de Marchi, refused to be drawn on the speculation, telling Radiosei:
“I confirm that Tare (Lazio sporting director) has always liked Borini as a player, but in this moment his only thought is Liverpool. It’s clear anyway that I would answer any call from Lazio should one arrive.”
