Liverpool plan late Ince bid

Reports coming from the Blackpool Gazette are claiming that Liverpool could be ready to hijack Cardiff City’s move for Tom Ince.

The Seasiders accepted a bid from the Premier League newcomers, believed to be in the region of £8m for the tricky forward, but the Reds have now shown interest in the player and will have until the opening day of the transfer window to table a rival offer.

Ince, who signed for Blackpool from Liverpool two years ago, has a clause in his contract that states the Merseysiders have 48 hours to match any bid accepted for the 21-year-old. Blackpool manager Paul Ince said of the deal: “When he comes back in a week’s time, we’ll sit down and see what we want to do.”

The youngster netted 18 goals for the Seasiders in the Championship last season and they would be keen to get as much money as they could from the deal. Especially with Ince senior looking to add to his squad substantially, as Blackpool have just 13 senior professionals currently on their books.
