Liverpool target Valencia defender

Valencia defender Aly Cissokho is looking like a loan target for Liverpool, the Reds are hopeful of closing the deal soon. The agreement will consist of the Anfield club paying an initial £850,000 to get the player on loan, with a view to a permanent deal should a further £3.5m change hands next summer.

The 25-year-old who joined Valencia from Lyon for around £7m could have little say in his future as the Spanish club look to cut their wage bill, following their disappointing league finish last year ruling them out of Champions League competition this year. However the France international’s arrival at Anfield could spell the end for current Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique.

The Daily Mail are reporting though, that the Reds could face competition from fellow Premier League team Sunderland for Cissokho’s signature. Elswhere at Anfield, it is rumoured that Serie A outfit Lazio are keen on Fabio Borini. While FC Groningen of the Dutch Eredivisie are looking to bring in striker Krisztian Adorjan on loan.
