Luis Suarez set to tell Liverpool he wants Arsenal move

Luis Suarez could be set to officially tell Liverpool that his wish is to leave the club – and move to Premier League rivals Arsenal, reports The Mirror.

The Uruguayan has been linked with a move away from Anfield for some considerable time, but originally cited his treatment by the British press during his stay in England as the cause of his unhappiness.

However, he now appears to simple want away from Anfield, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to end the club’s trophy drought. Some in depth odds analysis would likely show that the Gunners are set to spend big to strengthen the squad this summer.

Suarez had previously had his heart set on a move to La Liga with Real Madrid, but the Spaniards have made it clear that they will go nowhere near Liverpool’s £40m valuation of the player, setting a maximum of £25m for their pursuit.

That means that Arsenal have appeared to become the front runners, and it is understood the Gunners have been given the green light to make a £40m approach to the Kop.

Arsenal had looked set to complete a deal for Real striker Gonzalo Higuain until a row over the price, with the Spaniards increasing their demands from €30m to €40m amid interest from Napoli, and while it remains possible that a deal can be reached it would appear that Wenger and co have turned their attentions to Liverpool’s controversial striker.
