Manchester City have completed a £24m deal to for Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo, after the striker passed a medical on Thursday to become their third summer signing, reports ESPN.
After missing out on targets Edinson Cavani and Isco, Pellegrini moved quickly to capture the signature of Negredo, another of his main summer transfer targets. The Spaniard scored an impressive 31 goals in 42 appearances for Sevilla last season, his fourth in a successful spell with the club after becoming their record signing in 2009.
The expected signing of Jovetic, for £23m, would take City’s summer spending to £90m and increase the number of striking options to four, joining Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko.
Negredo said of his move to England: “For four years I have been very happy, but I think my time was here over. I am happy to go to a big team.”
