Mourinho rules out Chelsea sales

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stated that his club will not be selling anyone in this window. The Portuguese has also decided to double his efforts to bring in unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney before deadline day in August, as he believes that bringing in the England international will improve his club’s chances of prizing the Premier League away from Old Trafford this season.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Mourinho is happy with his current squad after securing the services of Marco van Ginkel, Andre Schurrle and Mark Schwarzer earlier in the window. Van Ginkel, a young midfielder, arrived from Vitesse Arnhem, while Schurrle and Schwarzer came in from Bayern Leverkusen and rivals Fulham respectively.

Mourinho said regarding his squad: “We are okay because we don’t have players to sell, so none of my players are leaving under any circumstances.” However the 50-year-old did confirm on Monday that young midfielders Josh McEachran and Lucas Piazon will be allowed to leave on loan this season, along with Nathanial Chalobah and wing-back Wallace.
