The current first-choice right-back at PSG, Gregory van der Wiel, has been linked with a move to Inter – and newly-installed PSG manager Laurent Blanc wants Ivanovic to fill the void, attracted by his ability to play centre-back as well as his more natural full-back position.
PSG are considering an £8m plus add-ons offer for the 29-year-old, and are willing to give Ivanovic a four-year contract and a big hike in pay if he makes the move to the French capital. It is not yet known how vital to Chelsea Ivanovic is considered by Jose Mourinho, but the club’s reaction to PSG’s offer is likely to tell all, the newspaper suggests.
Ivanovic has been a Chelsea player since January 2008, but did not make his debut for the club until the start of the new season, eight months after arriving from Lokomotiv Moscow. He went on to become Chelsea’s first-choice right-back and has to date made more than 200 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side.
