Pardew wants Kinnear to enter transfer market

Joe Kinnear’s addition to the Newcastle United board as director of football was a decision that caused uproar amongst Magpies supporters; however, manager Alan Pardew was satisfied with the appointment at the time but maybe doubting the decision now.

Newcastle are still yet to sign a player so far this summer but according to the Independent, Pardew is doing his upmost to get Kinnear recruiting soon.

With the departure of Demba Ba to Chelsea in January, Pardew’s focus was bringing in a quality striker to support the likes of Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben-Arfa in the attacking department.

However, the hopes of completing deals for Bafetimbi Gomis and Darren Bent, seem to be dwindling by the way side and Pardew is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of transfer activity at St James’ Park.

In an interview with Chronicle, the 52-year-old said: “I’m pushing Joe to get a transfer in. We are in a situation where we want to progress now.”
