Aston Villa transfer target Nacer Chadli is now the subject of interest from Swansea City, who have struggled to agree personal terms with Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony, ClubCall
Swansea have been after Bony throughout the summer, and had agreed a fee of £10m with Vitesse. However, it seems that they have ended their interest after talks with the player broke down, and Michael Laudrup’s side are now looking at FC Twente forward Chadli, rated at around £8.5m as a possible alternative.
Both Villa and Swansea are looking for at least one new striker to bolster their respective attacks. Luke Moore is currently the Welsh club’s only recognised striker in the senior squad, after Itay Shechter’s season-long loan expired. However, throughout last season Michu adapted successfully to the role after arriving as an attacking midfielder.
Villa have already brought in Nicklas Helenius from Aalborg, but fellow striker Darren Bent has been made available for transfer, leaving only Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann in addition to the Dane. Chadli would become their seventh summer signing.
Chadli, 25, scored 18 goals in all competitions for Twente last season, his best return since joining the club back in August 2010, and a choice between moving to either the West Midlands or South Wales could possibly lie ahead for the Belgian.
