Swansea have upped their efforts to sign Vitesse star Wilfried Bony after three fellow Premier League clubs joined the list of those interested in his services, reports The
The Swans are believed to have upped their offer with an improved package, now thought to be worth around £13.7m for the 24-year-old.
The striker scored a whopping return of 31 goals in 30 games for the Dutch club last season, and Michael Laudrup is thought to be desperate to land the striker ahead of other interested parties such as Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton, and West Ham.
Vitesse are thought to be holding out for a better deal, ideally a bidding war between the four Premier League clubs, but Francis Kacou, Bony’s agent, has hit out at the Dutch outfit, accusing them of reneging on a deal to sell the player to the Welshmen, which he claims was in place just after the January transfer window.
Kacou also confirmed that Bony will not be playing for Vitesse next season, come what may.
He said: “Why does it take so long? Six months ago, we made arrangements for a lump sum of 12million euros, regardless of goals.
“Swansea wanted to pay and Bony has seen that, but Vitesse wanted more. Now there is an offer of 14m, plus two million in bonuses. Why is Bony still in Arnhem? We do not know what they want.
“West Ham, Everton and Liverpool have been reported as having an interest, but Swansea has made the best offer. I want clarity, and a promise is a promise.
“One thing is for sure, he will not be playing for Vitesse this season.”
