Tottenham winger Bale admits to missing Champions League football

Gareth Bale is desperate to play again in the Champions League, the Daily Mail has reported, with the Tottenham Hotspur winger revealing he misses everything about the competition – including the music.

Tottenham missed out on a top four place at the end of last season, north London rivals Arsenal snatching the final Champions League spot, with Tottenham not having competed in the tournament since the 2010/11 season.

Bale told Esquire magazine that the Champions League is the pinnacle of club football and he wants to experience playing in the tournament again – leading the Mail to suggest the Wales international will seek to leave his current club in the near future in order to realise his ambition.
