Kaka would welcome Real Madrid purchase of Tottenham winger Bale

Real Madrid playmaker Kaka believes Gareth Bale would fit in well at the Santiago Bernabeu, Sky Sports has reported, as interest in the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder from the La Liga giants persists.

Madrid pair Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos have already spoken in support of the club’s pursuit of Bale and Kaka has echoed their words, praising the talent of the Wales international. “He’s a very, very good player,” Kaka told Sky Sports News. “If he comes to Madrid he will be welcomed.

He’s an amazing player with lots of technical ability, skills and tricks. We will be very happy if he comes,” the Brazil international added.

Bale is understood to have told Tottenham Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas that he would like to speak with Madrid over the transfer, with a world record offer expected from the Spanish heavyweights. Sky Sports puts the sum on offer at £85m, £5m more than the existing record set when Madrid signed for £80m Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. Kaka was briefly the world’s most expensive player, joining Madrid from Milan shortly before Ronaldo left Old Trafford.

Michael Laudrup, a former Real player, has also weighed in on the subject, admitting he can understand why Bale would want to move to Madrid. “Real are a massive club,” Laudrup said. “I don’t know if he will go as I only know what I’ve read in the papers here and in Spain because there’s huge interest in him.

Big players want to play at the highest level, at a club who try and win the Champions League, who get to finals and semi-finals. There are six, eight, 10 clubs with that potential and Real Madrid is obviously one of them. All big players want to play for that possibility because it’s special,” Laudrup added.
