Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi is having a medical at Stoke City ahead of season-long loan move to the Britannia Stadium, Sky
Assaidi was brought to Anfield by Brendan Rodgers from Heerenveen but has always been on the fringes of the first team, with appearances often limited to the Europa League. Indeed, he has not started a Premier League game for the Reds.
A number of clubs have been rumoured to be interested in the 25-year-old Moroccan, and Stoke look to have beaten Queens Park Rangers to his signature. He will be manager Mark Hughes’ third signing since taking charge, after two left sided players, Erik Pieters and Marc Muneisa.
And Hughes’ assistant Mark Bowen told the club’s website: “Assaidi is one that we like very much. He is here now talking with our medical staff and hopefully we can get that one over the line. He is a very good footballer, who has a lot of pace and is very technically gifted too. At this moment he is a Liverpool player though, so I don’t want to talk too much about him.”
