Gareth Barry could yet leave Man City ahead of the season opener after the England international stayed in Manchester while the City squad flew to Helsinki on Friday night, reports The
Barry did not travel with the squad, and the belief is that the former Aston Villa star could be headed to either Arsenal or Stoke City, despite reports earlier this summer that he would be heading to the USA to join up with City’s sister football club, New York City.
West Brom, Newcastle and Everton target Scott Sinclair also stayed in Manchester, as did Barcelona target Denis Suarez, 19.
When asked about all three players’ futures at the club and whether they would be leaving soon, new City chief Manuel Pellegrini responded: “We’ll see next week. Scott Sinclair is not here with the squad.
“Scott is in Manchester. Denis Suarez, Gareth Barry and Scott Sinclair are in Manchester.”
City are understood to be awaiting any concrete offers for the players, but with the interested parties having been named it is believed to only be a matter of time, and West Brom’s interest in Sinclair implies that a bid is imminent.
