Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric has no intention of returning to former club Tottenham Hotspur, but would be open to a move to Manchester United should a formal offer be made this summer, according to the Daily
There has been talk of Modric being included as part of a proposed world record deal to bring Tottenham star Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, but it appears that the Croat is not interested in going back the club he left last summer, and will reject any offer from Andre Villas-Boas’ side.
Modric scored four goals in 53 appearances during his first season with the Spanish giants after spending four years at White Hart Lane. But Real could sell him back to the Premier League this summer, and Manchester United are said to weighing him up as an alternative option to prime target Cesc Fabregas, who looks set to remain at Barcelona.
Red Devils boss David Moyes has not made a significant signing since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, and hopes of signing Fabregas are dwindling. He has made strengthening his midfield his main focus, with Marouane Fellaini, whom he managed at Everton, also a possibility.
