No chance of Man Utd move, insists Fabregas

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has played down transfer speculation linking him with a move back to the Premier League with Manchester United.

ESPN have reported that the 26-year-old has called the speculation “invented” and has assured Catalan fans that he will be staying in Spain. Fabregas has stated: “Playing and succeeding at Barcelona is my dream. I am very happy here and haven’t spoken to another club.

Rumours this summer have speculated that the ex-Arsenal midfielder has been the subject of two bids already from David Moyes; however Barca have illustrated their stance on the matter by rejecting both offers. Now it is being claimed that United’s new Scottish leader could be ready to break the club’s transfer record with a third bid understood to be around the £31m mark.

When asked about Fabregas’ future new Barcelona boss Tata Martino stated that the player would be staying put for the upcoming season. The recently-appointed manager spoke of other news coming out of Camp Nou, revealing that Carles Puyol is a concern for the start of the season through injury. However Martino did remain tight lipped regarding speculation linking his club to a £35m bid for Chelsea’s David Luiz.
