Carlo Ancelotti, the Coach of Real Madrid, has refused to speak about the club’s move for Gareth Bale, Sky
Previous comments from Ancelotti over the proposed move of the Wales winger raised the ire of Villas-Boas, particularly when Ancelotti revealed in late July that Madrid were “ negotiating and trying to find a solution to the situation” that would enable them to sign Bale from Spurs.
Now, however, the former Paris Saint-Germain boss has attempted to stay out of the fracas, saying ahead of Madrid’s friendly with Chelsea in Miami: “I won’t speak about Bale, because I have already angered him (Villas-Boas) and I don’t want to anger another coach. I didn’t say anything in particular and I prefer not to talk about this.”
Villas-Boas has stated that as far as he is concerned, Bale is not for sale, but the prolific midfielder is said to be the subject of a world record offer from Madrid – one Tottenham are likely to accept due to the sheer size of the fee.
Ancelotti’s Madrid play Chelsea in the final of the Guiness Championship, a pre-season tournament played across the United States that also involved Juventus and Everton, among others, and sees Blues boss Jose Mourinho go up against his former side, while Ancelotti is also facing old employers, having won the Premier League title in his time at Stamford Bridge.
