Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly moved a step closer to landing Welsh star Gareth Bale after submitting a new bid in excess of £90m, reports The
Madrid are thought to have offered £93m plus full back Fabio Coentrao in an attempt to finally loosen Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s stance, after he demanded a world record £105m. With Coentrao rated at around £7m, it would mean a bid of approximately £100m is on the table.
And Spurs look to have lined up a replacement if the Welshman were to leave white Hart Lane, as talks are at an advanced stage with Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala for £30m Brazilian willian, while talks with Roma over a possible deal for Argentinian Erik Lamela are on-going.
Willian and Lamela may not be replacements, however, but instead an incentive for Bale to give the North London club one more season. Spurs have twice smashed their transfer record this summer, and after AVB admitted they are still looking to add following their opening day win spending looks set to continue.
