Free-scoring Manchester City will bid for their first away win in the Premier League this season at Aston Villa on Saturday.
It has been an inconsistent start for Paul Lambert’s side so far.
Villa are looking a much stronger proposition when they play away, mainly due to their pace on the counter-attack. Despite getting a monkey off their back last week by keeping a clean sheet at Norwich City, they came crashing down with a heavy defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur, so Lambert will be looking for his players to impose themselves more at Villa Park.
Villa’s defence face a tough examination from a Man City side that has scored 12 goals in its last three outings. Confidence appears to be high after hammering rivals Manchester United on Sunday, with their strikers scoring goals. Summer signings Stevan Jovetic and Jesus Navas were both off the mark in Tuesday’s 5-0 Capital One victory over Wigan Athletic.
Talisman Christian Benteke faces six weeks out after sustaining an injury at Carrow Road, while Gabriel Agbonlahor, who also came off in that match, should be fit along with defenders Ciaran Clark and Antonio Luna.
David Silva should be fit enough to return for Man City after injuring himself on international duty, however summer signing Martin Demichelis is still not fit enough to make his debut.
