Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has opened the door on a possible return to first team action for Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, reports the Daily
The 25-year-old forward was expected to be leaving the London club in the Summer, after Wenger allowed him to miss training i order to secure a move elsewhere, however having failed to find a suitable club, Wenger is now willing to integrate him into the first team.
‘He is a good striker. He could play against West Brom, he will be in the squad for sure.
‘It is a fantastic opportunity for him. Honestly, he was supposed to go, but he stayed and once he stays you have to consider him as a full player of the squad.
Arsenal were expected to move for a striker in the transfer window, but no such signing came, and Bendtner could provide an option to rest main striker Olivier Giroud.
Bendtner spent last season on loan at Juventus, but failed to find the net given just two starts and nine substitute appearances.
The season previous proved more fruitful, scoring 8 league goals in 28 appearances for Sunderland.
