Barcelona midfielder Fabregas saw Ozil up close for Real Madrid before the Germany international’s transfer deadline day switch to the Emirates Stadium for an Arsenal record fee of more than £42m, and he believes that the style of play in English football will greatly benefit the new arrival.
“He’s going to enjoy the Premier League a lot,” Fabregas said. “It’s a league with a lot of space and he is a player who can kill you when he has space. He has a brilliant final pass and I think the Premier League is going to enjoy him very much. I think he will nail it at Arsenal, the Spain international added.
Fabregas spent eight years at Arsenal before returning to the Catalans in 2011, making more than 300 appearances under Arsene Wenger and captaining the side in his latter seasons in north London. Fabregas also scored more than 50 goals for Arsenal from midfield, winning the FA Cup in 2005, the last trophy Arsenal have claimed.
