Tottenham centre-back Michael Dawson was left excited following a meeting with billionaire Joe Lewis on a £220m yacht, reports the Mirror.
It was Dawson’s first-ever meeting with the man behind Tottenham’s transformation from an average squad into title contenders.
Dawson said: “It was unreal. It was great for someone like me, who has been here a long time now, to actually meet Joe and know what a really nice guy he is. He wants to be successful.
“I think it shows in the transfer market this year. We’ve certainly spent some money and made some big-money signings. Some world-class players, and that’s only going to improve us.
“I’ve been very fortunate in the eight and a half year I’ve had here to play with some top players, world-class players. But I think at this moment in time, the depth and the quality we’ve got certainly has to be the best.
Spurs face Chelsea today in the Premier League, a match they have won just three times out of the last 42 ties between the two clubs.
But Tottenham supporters will be optimistic going into the match, as the current squad is the best that Spurs have ever possessed in the Premier League.
Despite Gareth Bale’s departure over the summer, Tottenham went on to break the transfer record three times with his £86m fee as Paulinho was joined by: Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches and Etienne Capoue.
