Liverpool loan signing Victor Moses believes he had to leave Chelsea in order to avoid damaging his career, Sky
Moses faced being squeezed out at Stamford Bridge after the signing of Willian and Andre Schurrle this summer, and the return to Chelsea of Kevin De Bruyne, who spent last season away on loan from the club. Having made only 12 starts in the Premier League last season, Moses feels he could not afford to be further marginalised this year under Jose Mourinho.
“As a young footballer coming up, I just want to play games,” Moses told Liverpool’s official website. “Not playing can really damage your career.
“Liverpool is a massive club and I just want to enjoy my football and try to help my teammates,” Moses continued. “The move to Chelsea was a massive step for me. I just wanted to go there, express myself and enjoy my football. Coming to Liverpool is another step for me.”
Moses moved to Chelsea from Wigan a year ago, having joined the Latics from Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old will spend the season on loan at Anfield, alongside for Chelsea teammate Daniel Sturridge.
