Tottenham line-up move for Basel midfielder

Tottenham have been linked with a January transfer window move for Basel central midfielder Mohamed Salah, according to the Metro.

Salah, 21, is in his second season with the Swiss outfit, breaking into the first team on a more regular basis this term, and the Egytian already has a Swiss Super League title medal.

The player also scored his first Europa League goal against Tottenham in April of this year, and followed that up with the winner in an away match with Chelsea.

Salah was voted the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Most Promising Talent of the Year in 2012, following in the footsteps of past winners Saloman Kalou, John Obi Mikel, and former Spurs striker Mido.

While there is reported interest from Serie A, in the form of Inter and Roma, it is reported that Spurs could be required to produce a bid in the region of £7m.
