Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson has vowed to show the club mean business as the Reds prepare for the trip to play Arsenal on Saturday, Sky
Brendan Rodgers’ side saw off West Brom with a convincing 4-1 victory at Anfield last weekend, and Henderson is ready to show the rest of the Premier League teams that Liverpool are the real deal this season. “Confidence is very high at the minute,” Henderson said.
“We’ve started the season very well, but there’s still room for improvement and we’re still going to push and try and become better as a team,” the midfielder continued. “So hopefully we can keep doing what we’ve been doing and we can go to the Emirates and get a good result.”
Henderson though is aware of the threat from an Arsenal side who are unbeaten in eight league games. “They’re all tough games in the Premier League and Arsenal have been flying of late,” he said. “But so have we, so I think it will be a good game to watch and hopefully we can get a good result.
“It would send out a message to the rest of the teams that we’re here and we mean business. But I think the main focus is going there and playing like we have been.”
Liverpool have lost just once so far this season, and have recorded three clean sheets in the Premier League. Daniel Sturridge is currently top scorer in the league with eight goals, two ahead of Luis Suarez, who has helped the Reds into third.
Rodgers’ side could leapfrog Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with a win at the Emirates, but Arsenal have gone unbeaten in the league since the opening day defeat against Aston Villa.
