Looking to build on their decent start in the Champions League this season, Manchester United take on Real Sociedad on Wednesday, in another important home game.
A home victory over Bayer Leverkusen was followed by a creditable draw away to Shakhtar Donetsk, leaving Man Utd and the Ukrainian side level on four points at the top of Group A. However, David Moyes has not made the best of starts to his reign, particularly at Old Trafford, where they have managed just one win from their opening four Premier League home fixtures.
The biggest problem for the three-time European champions this season has been the lack of chances created in open play, an area which Moyes tried and failed to strengthen during the summer. Thus far, his only major summer signing, Marouane Fellaini, is yet to make much of an impact.
Real Sociedad are lying bottom of the group having lost both games so far, having qualified following an excellent season in La Liga, in which they finished fourth, ensuring their first Champions League campaign since the 2003-04 season. They are currently 12th this time around, and former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela is among their ranks.
In a game which Man Utd must look to win in the context of the group, defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both doubtful, along with Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck.
