Ravel Morrison and Wilfried Zaha put a dampener on a superb England Under-21 win against Lithuania on Tuesday evening, reports the Daily
Zaha confronted Morrison before the two began pushing and shoving each other. The West Ham midfielder seemed frustrated after he wasn’t given the chance to complete his hat-trick with a penalty that was taken by Saido Berahino. England eventually won the match 5-0.
The pair went head-to-head following a free-kick that was headed wide by John Stones, when Morrison thrust his arm in his teammate’s face, leaving Nathan Redmond to act as peacemaker by breaking up the spat.
Morrison didn’t speak about the incident after the match, but Redmond said: “
“We sorted it out behind the scenes. Rav’s a class player, sometimes he just has to move the ball a little bit quicker. Sometimes you do get a little bit frustrated with him, but you just have to let Rav be Rav because of the things he is capable of.
“A lot of teams could have sat back and been a bit lazy with the ball (at 5-0) but we want to get as many goals as we can.”
Morrison scored the opening goal for the Young Lions, before capping off his performance with another wonder strike. Berahino scored twice and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse scored the other goal at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road.
