The newspaper claims that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has identified the Mexico international as a potential solution to the lack of alternatives to Olivier Giroud, who has led the Arsenal line for the entire season – with only Nicklas Bendtner fit and available to ease the pressure on the France international. Bendtner had however spent the past two seasons on loan away from the Emirates Stadium and has featured only rarely this year.
With Wenger’s ideal choice, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, almost certainly unavailable, a report has been drawn up on Hernandez. Hernandez has made only nine appearances for United so far this season, scoring four times, whereas Giroud has started every Arsenal game in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Wenger is also said to be considering a loan approach for Juventus’ Spain international forward Fernando Llorente, who left Athletic Bilbao for the Turin club on a free transfer over the summer, but has struggled to win a regular place among the Serie A champions’ starting XI.
