Demba Ba is aiming to leave Chelsea in January, and is eyeing a move to Turkey, although the Blues will only be willing to sell if they can find a replacement, reports the London
The Senegalese striker has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since arriving for Newcastle United in January, scoring only seven goals in 27 appearances in all competitions. Ba has made just two league starts this season, finding himself behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o in the pecking order, and that has led to increased speculation over his future.
Several Premier League clubs including Arsenal and West Ham United – his first English club – are reportedly interested in signing Ba on loan in January. However, Besiktas are also linked, and a leading Turkish agent claimed: “I talk closely with Demba Ba, he wants to play for a Turkish club but I can’t comment on a transfer yet.”
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez as a possible replacement for Ba, with the Colombian striker having scored nine goals in 17 matches so far this campaign.
