Crystal Palace vs Everton – Premier League preview and team news

Still without a manager, rock-bottom Crystal Palace will be looking to avoid an eighth consecutive Premier League defeat as Everton visit Selhurst Park.

Two battling displays against Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion, under caretaker-boss Keith Millen have not been enough to earn any points, and the Eagles are already six points adrift of safety and desperately in need of a victory. There is even some speculation that the club are already preparing for a return to the Championship next season, with current form suggesting that achieving survival is a very big ask.

Everton passed up the chance to go second when they drew 0-0 with Tottenham last time out, in what was very much a game of two halves, with the Toffees completely outplaying their visitors in the second half having spent much of the first inside their own half as Tottenham pressed hard but could not find a cutting edge.

Jonathan Parr could make his first appearance of the season for Crystal Palace after recovering from an ankle ligament problem, although Adlene Guedioura will be out for at least six weeks with a punctured lung and two broken ribs.

Roberto Martinez now has another long-term injury to contend with, after he received the news that Arouna Kone could be out for the rest of the season, leaving Romelu Lukaku and Nikica Jelavic as the only two strikers available for Everton.
