David Moyes targets “the new Drogba”, Fulham striker Dembele

Man United could be set to swoop for Fulham striker Moussa Dembele, according to The Daily Mail.

Dembele – not to be confused with Spurs’ former Cottagers Belgian midfielder with the same name – impressed David Moyes and co. during a recent U-21s match in which he scored to help secure a 2-2 draw.

The 17-year-old Frenchman has even earned himself the tag of “the new Drogba”, and so United seem keen to add him to their books before he makes an impact at senior level, at which stage many of the Red Devils’ rivals are likely to make moves for him as well.

With Dembele recently signing his first professional contract at Craven Cottage, United would be forced to pay a transfer fee to secure his signature rather than recruiting him onto their youth program.

He was a member of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy before moving to the Premier League outfit for a compensation fee of £284k – the maximum fee as determined by a tribunal for academy players.
