Samuel Eto’o is aiming to win all four trophies this season with Chelsea, insisting no specific tournament will be prioritised, reports Sky
The Blues are currently just two points behind league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League and have a good chance of qualifying for the knock-out phase of the Champions League.
And in the wake of Chelsea’s 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening, Eto’o was confident of winning all four trophies having progressed to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup. “It’s going to be difficult, yes. But we’ve got a good team and will not sacrifice our chances of winning one competition in preference for another,” he said. “We’re trying to win every competition and we will get there. We have as much chance as any rival.
“There’s a lot of confidence in this group but we must stay focused. I realise each and every team can win. Until the referee blows that final whistle, even if you’re winning 4-0, the other team is capable of coming back and even getting a fifth goal.
“We’ll keep positive but still be a little suspicious as too much confidence can leave doors open for mistakes.”
Chelsea have won eight of their last nine games in all competitions and travel to Newcastle on Saturday in an attempt to leapfrog their London rivals at the top of the table.
Eto’o is amongst Demba Ba and Fernando Torres in the strikers’ category for Joe Mourinho, but the trio have scored just two goals between them so far this campaign, with the rest of Chelsea’s goals coming from elsewhere.
