Everton star Barkley earmarked for full England debut against Chile

Ross Barkley is set to make his full England debut this week, according to The Mirror.

Barkley has got off to a fine start this season as Everton sail impressively through the early days of having a new manager for the first time in 11 years, with former Wigan boss Roberto Martinez establishing himself as a popular face among the stands at Goodison Park.

The 19-year-old made his senior England debut against Moldova in September, when he entered the fray as a sub, having impressed Three Lions coach Roy Hodgson when the 66-year-old took charge of a U-21 game for a friendly against Scotland.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is struggling for fitness, and so Hodgson sees the clash with South Americans Chile as a good time to reward Barkley for his impressive form with the Toffees with a place in his starting lineup.

Barkley made his Everton debut in 2010, and has spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds before becoming an important player for the first team at Goodison Park this season under the guidance of Martinez.
