Germany fans have purchased less than 1,000 tickets for the Football Association’s 150th anniversary celebration friendly with England next Tuesday at Wembley, reports the Daily
Tickets are only available to the German fans who are official members of the national team’s fan club, and with the match on a week-night just days after Germany’s friendly with Italy, the supporters are failing to see the excitement of the friendly at Wembley.
The FA are still expecting more than 80,000 fans at the match, but it is already likely that the 20,000 Poles inside Wembley last month will be a complete contrast to the travelling Germans.
The Poland fixture did however result in fines for the FA and the Polish FA following a flare being lit and thrown on the pitch along with a fan invading the pitch during the World Cup qualifier last month.
Steven Gerrard will miss the fixture against Chile on Friday due to back pain, with Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard expected to captain the Three Lions.
