Manchester United must wait to find out how long Phil Jones will be out for after suffering a groin injury during England’s 2-0 defeat to Chile on Friday, writes ESPN.
Jones signed for United in 2011 from Blackburn, and has made over 50 appearances at Old Trafford. David Moyes’ side face Cardiff and Bayer Leverkusen in their next two fixtures, with a shortage of central midfielders also a concern for the United boss.
Michael Carrick, who partnered Jones in midfield during the 1-0 win against Arsenal, has been sidelined for up to six weeks with an Achilles injury. Marouane Fellaini is also out for the Leverkusen clash due to suspension after a sending off during United last Champions League match.
Moyes is left with little to choose from as Tom Cleverley, 40-year-old Ryan Giggs, and Anderson are the only other options for the Scot.
