Borussia Dortmund’s German international midfielder Marco Reus is being targeted by Manchester City and Manchester United, with both clubs preparing make a bid next summer, according to the Daily
The news comes after it was revealed that Reus, valued at £30m, has a £29.5m release clause in his current contract – which runs until the summer of 2017, but the player is likely to wait into the end of the current season to assess his options, rather than seek a move in the January transfer window.
Reus has been a key player for Dortmund since he joined from Borussia Monchengladbach in July 2012, helping them to the Champions League final last season and to second place in the Bundesliga. Overall, he has scored 29 in 68 games, and made 25 assists during his time at the Westfalenstadion.
Man Utd are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer windows after failing to make many signings over the summer, as they missed out on the likes of Ander Herrera, Fabio Coentrao and Mesut Ozil this year, while for Man City, signing Reus would add to an area of the pitch where they have several options, including David Silva, Samir Nasri, James Milner and Stevan Jovetic.
