Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet believes the partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez is the most dangerous in the entire Premier League, ESPN
The strikers have helped Brendan Rodgers’ side into second place in the Premier League, level on points with Chelsea – but ahead on goals scored – and four points behind the league leaders, Arsenal. Between them, Suarez and Sturridge have scored 20 league goals, and Mignolet rates them higher than any other combination in the division.
“I come across them every day in training and I don’t think there is a better partnership than the two of them,” the former Sunderland stopper said. “They can produce a lot of goals and hopefully they can keep doing that.”
Both players in question were on target on Saturday as Everton and Liverpool drew 3-3. Suarez converted a first-half free-kick to put the Reds 2-1 in front but the home side levelled and then went ahead, until Sturridge, on as a late substitute, cancelled out the lead.
“We know what Daniel can do for us, he can score goals,” Mignolet added. “He came on at the weekend and luckily he was there to equalise.”
Liverpool are the joint-second highest scorers in the Premier League so far this season, scoring 24 times in their 12 games, the same tally as Arsenal. Both clubs trail Manchester City, however, who have netted 34 times in their dozen outings.
